Meet the Christchurch team

Ross Erskine 1275 x 850

In remembrance

Sadly, Ross Erskine, one of our firm's founding directors, passed away suddenly in late November 2022. He joined the firm of Murray and Sparks in 1975, which became Murray Sparks & Erskine in 1977. Over many years Ross guided our firm and represented it internationally with HLB group then later on, the National Board of Staples Rodway.

Ross greatly enjoyed his long association with his loyal clients and in the days following his death, many kind messages of condolence were received from them and from friends of Baker Tilly Staples Rodway Christchurch. We will greatly miss his wit, humour, strategic prowess and wisdom.

Cashing out in crypto is something that I and many others dream about yet dread (due to) the tax implications. Matthew Shallcrass was excellent, first of all by having a personal interest in Cryptocurrency he knew exactly what I was talking about. He clearly explained the current tax laws and gave options around how I could cash out. The process was smooth, communication was great and service was prompt. Couldn't have asked for more. I will continue to work with Matthew and highly recommend him to anyone in my situation.

Pacificvet is entering its fourth decade of benefiting from the accounting and financial genius of Dave McCone. His expertise has resulted in an unbroken track record of sustainable profitability and strong financial fitness. Besides undertaking our financial and tax reporting obligations, he introduced systems that enabled rapid, smart financial decision-making and future-proofed our income stream and profitability. Dave also has a big heart, which shows in his ongoing support as Treasurer of the Cancer Society and Christchurch City Mission.
