Spencer Smith

Tax, Director, Christchurch

Spencer has been providing specialist tax advice since 1988. Before joining Baker Tilly Staples Rodway, he was a partner in two other international accounting firms.

There are times when your business will be faced with some critical decisions. Spencer has the experience and the skillset to help you understand the business and tax implications, so that your decisions are fully-informed.  Working alongside your team (management, legal, banking and other advisors), Spencer knows how to ensure that the implementation of your plans runs smoothly.

Spencer is also happy to assist, if you are an accountant or lawyer and you are concerned that a particular client’s tax issue may be getting a bit too complex. He successfully works with many other professionals in those situations.

His extensive governance experience could also be invaluable where your situation requires the involvement of other parties, such as trustees, shareholders, a board of directors or external stakeholders.
