Following an extensive career in public practice, Stuart is now a consultant with Baker Tilly Staples Rodway Hawke's Bay. He was previously a managing director of the office and also a member of the New Zealand board. His career has been predominantly in the audit field. As an FMC licensed auditor he headed the Hawke's Bay audit division for many years.

Stuart is now mainly involved with the charitable sector in both administrative / management roles and governance. He is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors.
