New accounting standard brings significant change to financial reporting

Nicola is responsible for overseeing Baker Tilly’s internal office review programme, developing and overseeing the AML/CFT compliance framework and assisting staff around the country in interpreting financial reporting, auditing and other professional standards, such as the Code of Ethics. She regularly updates staff on technical accounting matters, such as AML/CFT, Ethics and new and emerging accounting standards.
Nicola brings a wealth of experience having worked in a number of industry sectors across New Zealand, Asia Pacific and the UK. She has a strong audit and financial reporting background, which includes leading the development of systems and processes required to implement the Auditor Regulation Act in her role as Manager Regulation and Compliance at the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Most recently Nicola was a Senior Policy Advisor at Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand where she was responsible for advocating on behalf of members, developing guidance to help members comply with audit and financial reporting standards, delivering face-to-face training sessions and responding to technical queries.
Nicola is a passionate Chartered Accountant and enjoys helping clients prepare financial reports that meet requirements, articulate their "performance story" and describe how their business has been creating value in the short, medium and long-term.
