Focus on teamwork and the future at conference

About 90 of our leaders gathered in Rotorua this week for our two-yearly Partner and Manager Conference, with a theme of “The Future of Work” and dynamic discussions about how we can stay ahead of the curve.

These are challenging times and we’re grateful to have had the opportunity to gather, listen to presenters and share ideas around our evolving work environments, from technology to team engagement.

Many thanks to FutureWork Studio presenters Joanne Fair and Vincent Vuillard, who challenged our thinking, and William Pike who inspired everyone with his message about stepping out of your comfort zone. Thanks also to Tax Management New Zealand, which provided morning tea, and Beats by Bingo for the evening entertainment. It turns out that some of our team are rather spirited debaters, singers and dancers.

Special mention goes to Wellington directors Nicola Hankinson and Matt Sutherland, who after realising that a Rotorua airport taxi wasn't large enough for their contingent, ran the full 10km to the conference.

Lastly, we’d like to give our best wishes to our Baker Tilly Staples Rodway Hawke’s Bay team. We missed you at the weekend, but you’re very much in our thoughts and we commend you for the work you’ve been doing in your communities.
