David Heald

David specialises in property development, construction, corporate agri and business advisory. He advises a diverse range of clients operating and investing in a variety of industries and markets, both on taxation and general business matters.

Before joining Baker Tilly Staples Rodway, David worked for a Big Four firm in Auckland where he advised an array of private, public and multinational clients on a myriad of taxation and business issues.

David has presented at a number of seminars, including presentations for the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. Topics have included property and business related tax issues, structuring and the use of Limited Partnerships, and more recently QC/LAQCs and look-through companies. David has also presented at New Zealand Law Society's Rural Conference on Limited Partnerships.

David also brings prior specialist tax expertise over almost two decades during which time he has been involved in a number of domestic tax structuring and restructuring assignments for corporate and non corporate entities, and this has included frequent use of limited partnership structures.

David has a particular interest and specialisation in property taxation and agribusiness, the later in the form of large multi-farm dairy syndications advising some of New Zealand's leaders in the field.
