How does the Admin team influence the running of the company?

Our Baker Tilly Staples Rodway admin team undertake many tasks which allow the firm to function on a day to day basis. From going to buy the choc biscuits for morning tea to handling highly confidential client documents, the work we do is to try to make life easier for our staff and clients.

What involvement do you have with the Clients of Baker Tilly Staples Rodway?

Often perceived as the friendly face at reception, we wear many hats and can also be the nagging voice at the end of the phone trying to get you to pay your bills. Communications is a huge part of our role and often being the “in between” means we know our clients better than others.

What is the weirdest client or staff request you or your team has ever had at work?

Of course as we are here to ensure all clients expectations are met, no client queries are ever too unreasonable. However, our staff keep us very entertained with some pretty hilarious incidents including the time Deanne got a phone call from the men’s room requesting more toilet paper cause there was none left!

Working so closely with the directors, there must be some dirt you can give us on them?

The Directors are often under immense pressure with their workloads but as Administrators we are here to ensure that everything runs smoothly. We take that responsibility very seriously as the Directors need to concentrate on their clients. If we’re doing our job well, there shouldn’t be any dirt!

Is there a diversity of personalities among the group?  How does this influence how you work as a team?

There’s definitely a range of personalities within our large team and as an all female group there are a lot of different interests with each person bringing something very different to the table. What’s amazing about the Baker Tilly Staples Rodway team is that everyone is encouraged to share their ideas, so having a range of personality’s is a huge advantage to our team.

What’s your favourite part about working for Baker Tilly Staples Rodway?

For me, it’s the people and the relationships that we are able to build with our colleagues and the clients.  I started my career as a Receptionist and I still see this as a very pivotal role within an organisation. We’re all about helping each other out and so when the opportunity arises, I’m more than happy to spend some time on the Reception desk.

What is your least favourite part about working here?

Just like all areas of our business there are times when we are under pressure and some of the challenges we face can be very testing but all in all it’s an awesome place to work. I love my job and to be able to say that in this day is very rare. Baker Tilly Staples Rodway have become just like a family to me.
