Let’s celebrate our female colleagues

Next Wednesday is International Women’s Day and we’d like to applaud the dedication and brilliance of our female staff and leaders.

This year’s IWD theme is “embrace equity”. Where equality means all people are treated the same, equity may require different treatment to achieve equality. For women, that means addressing historical and systemic disparities, such as career prospects and pay.

When everyone has the same opportunities, they are better positioned to reach their full potential, benefitting workplaces and society as a whole. Performance has its rightful place, of course. High achievers should be recognised for their value and contributions, regardless of gender.

At Baker Tilly Staples Rodway, we work hard to achieve a culture of recognition and appreciation that values all employees. Roughly fifty-two percent of our leadership is comprised of females. We’re lucky to have a range of talented women across our teams and we applaud their efforts, individually and collectively.

Next week we’re giving the floor to some of our female leaders. They will give their stories in their words, covering everything from equity to upbringing. Please join us in appreciating the many good things they bring to our workplaces across New Zealand.
