Applications for the seventh round of the wage subsidy will be closing at 11:59pm on 25 November 2021.
We expect applications for the eighth round of the wage subsidy to open at 9am on 26 November 2021, with the eligibility criteria remaining the same as before.
In line with the government’s announcement on 22 October, we expect applications for the sixth round of the resurgence support payment to open on 26 November 2021, with the eligibility criteria remaining the same as before.
Inland Revenue have also indicated that applications for round 4 onwards will close six weeks after any part of New Zealand has moved to the new protection framework. Applications for rounds 1 through 3 will be closing on 1 December 2021.
With the pending end of the alert level system, it is not clear what level of government support will be provided going forward. While the government did indicate there would be a new support framework determined by the end of November, this date is fast approaching with no announcement as yet.
