Tax Talk: Are you subject to FIF rules? If so, changes are coming…
New Zealand’s foreign investment fund (FIF) rules have created much angst for Kiwis over the decades...
Last week it was our great pleasure to bring together 65 delegates from 15 countries for the 2023 Baker Tilly APAC Regional Conference in Auckland. The three days were full of engaging content and networking opportunities. Meetings provided a platform for thought-provoking discussions on developments and strategic visions for the future.

The main plenary delved into cross-border collaboration and unlocking insights that will help shape our collective path forward. This included presentations from BNZ Head of Asia Business Activation, Franky Wang, on dealing with Asian business, and National Party Deputy Leader Nicola Willis (in her role as opposition finance spokesperson), who provided delegates with a view of New Zealand economic challenges.
Beyond the meetings, the social events created an atmosphere of shared experiences. The gala dinner provided a perfect finale, celebrating forged or renewed connections.
Many thanks to those who organised the event and to all who attended, including Baker Tilly International CEO Francesca Lagerberg, who came to our Auckland office to present an update to staff. We’re proud to be part of such a thriving and collaborative network!
