Our Women in Business Auckland team hosted clients and contacts to enjoy a "Night in Tokyo" last week. While it's not possible to travel direct to the capital of cool at present, guests were transported direct via Zoom to the Olympic hosting city.
Jessica Tisch, Head of Business Development at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise in Tokyo, joined the group live from a city still in lock down, but enjoying the Olympic vibe. Jessica talked about some of the successful Kiwi businesswomen cracking the Japanese market, as well as current trends in social media, marketing and promotion.
She expanded on how sustainability, veganism, grass-fed & plastic reduction are all "hot topics" for the Japanese market, and areas that NZTE are using as a focus for encouraging investment and interest in New Zealand.
Auckland Director Annette Azuma followed Jessica with a fabulous presentation on "food, fashion & fun', as she always does for these events. A chance to hear about where to shop, eat and enjoy the Japanese capital.
There was delicious sushi made on site by two experienced sushi chefs, traditional Japanese koto players, and a range of tempura treats. Guests simply loved dreaming of the time when we will all be able to take a trip to Japan.
