Our Baker Tilly Staples Rodway Tauranga team have a long history of community involvement across the wider Bay of Plenty and we're proud to support their efforts. Here are some of the charities, groups and organisations they've been supporting...
Fiona Simmonds
Business Advisory Services Manager Fiona Simmonds has been an Otūmoetai Football Club volunteer since 2016. The club has a long history, tracing its roots all the way back to 1964. It offers a range of programmes, and opportunities for players of all ages and abilities. Fiona recently received a life membership award (and framed shirt) in recognition of her outstanding contribution and services to the club.
Keryn Jarvis
BAS associate Keryn Jarvis is one of the co-founders and a foundation committee member of the Western Bay of Plenty Women’s Fund, which was launched in May 2024 and is powered by Acorn Foundation. A generous community of people and businesses donate to the fund, which in turn will support community groups whose ethos is to empower and create opportunities for women and whānau in the community.
Keryn also volunteers as a Trustee and Treasurer on the board of Life Education Trust in the Western Bay of Plenty. The trust provides education to support children’s health and wellbeing. In the WBOP region, it delivers the Life Education programme to more than 7,500 children at 25 primary and intermediate schools.
Karen Brock
BAS associate Karen Brock is a Guide Leader at Papamoa Guides and has volunteered with GirlGuiding New Zealand for nearly 30 years. The charity has a strong focus on outdoor activities and teamwork, enabling girls aged nine to 12.5 to develop into confident, empowered, adventurous leaders in their communities.
Shannon Corbett
BAS client manager Shannon Corbett volunteers for the Graeme Dingle Foundation by mentoring a Year 10 student through “Project K”. Project K mentors help arm their young proteges with a belief in their own ability to complete tasks and achieve goals, and also help them find purpose and direction.
Rhys Grosvenor
Audit & Assurance Services director Rhys Grosvenor has been the treasurer of the Pāpāmoa Cricket Club since 2020. The club aims to provide cricket at all levels, with a strong focus on providing a lifelong cricket experience for its members.
