Gavin is an Advisory and Audit Director at Baker Tilly Staples Rodway Waikato. From an advisory perspective Gavin specialise in helping motivated business owners improve financial profitability, cope with change whether it be technological or societal, and gain a competitive advantage in an increasingly tough and crowded market.

Gavin is also a Qualified Auditor who works alongside both commercial for-profit entities and not-for-profit organisations. Gavin’s audit team provides a high-quality value add service through a robust audit process which guarantees integrity of financial information and reporting for all stakeholders. For commercial entities the team provides business owners, boards, and other external stakeholders, confidence that the financial information being reported is true and fair. Likewise, for not-for-profit organisations, our robust audits ensure the wider public has confidence that funds donated to charities are being used for the benefit of the community.

In addition to Gavin’s time at Baker Tilly Staples Rodway, he also spent many years working in both audit and tax at a ‘Big Four’ firm in Hamilton. Gavin also has significant accounting and financial reporting experience from his time as a Group Accountant at Fonterra in Auckland, in addition to various secondments to financial institutions and manufacturing companies.

Gavin is professionally qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand. He is also a board member of Balloons over Waikato Trust.
